Self-introduction letter to a professor via email
Subject: Self-introduction email by Son Zhuo Yi
Dear
Professor Fazilah,
I am Son Zhuo Yi, currently pursuing Bachelor
in Mechanical Engineering (Hons) at Singapore Institute of Technology as a Year
1 student. I
am a fresh graduate from Ngee Ann Polytechnic with a Diploma in Mechanical
Engineering with minor in Business Management. After studying several modules
related to engineering design, I found myself interested in creating technical
drawings in 2D and 3D models. I naturally became more engaged, and the sense of
accomplishment came along whenever I successfully designed a technical drawing.
One of my communication strengths is
that I am a friendly person and willing to engage in more conversations when
needed. However, many of my classmates and friends stated that I looked fierce
and afraid to talk to me. One of my communication weaknesses is that I lacked
confidence when presenting and expressing myself to a large group audience. I am afraid that the statements that I expressed are irrelevant to my audience. I often
panicked and forgot what I am going to say when performing a presentation.
My goal for developing more effective
communication is I must tackle my communication weakness as stated. I am hoping
that I can boost my confidence through this module and present myself
confidently. Besides, I would love to improve my verbal and writing skills such
that I can express my opinions concisely yet simple. In terms of writing skills, I
need to reduce my mistakes in using short forms accidentally and refine my
grammar.
What makes me unique is that I am a disciplined,
task-oriented, and very independent self-motivated individual. I am willing to
commit and put in the effort to actualize excellent results. I am a team player because I know that each member's
responsibilities and actions will make each other's ideas stronger.
I appreciate your time in reading this email.
Yours sincerely,
Son Zhuo Yi

The beginning of each paragraph allows me to know what you are trying to say next which is good to me as I can follow through what you are trying to say. Thank you and I will be looking forward to see you in class.
